Life in April!!!!

I just have to write a quick note of my gratitude to Heavenly Father. Life is really hard and there's a lot of trials to overcome, but I am so grateful for my kids and husband and the little blessings that come our way. I went to the Chiropractor yesterday to get some answers about my newly diagnosed "Reflux disease" and my hiatal hernia, and unlike the doctors that I have been seeing, Dr. Lafferty (My chiro) actually tried to solve the problem, instead of just masking it with medication, that would ultimately make things worse in the end. The docs that I saw, said that I would eventually have to do a scope/surgery to fix the hernia in my esophagous (I can't spell worth a darn), but Dr. Lafferty adjusted me and though it was soooo painful, he fixed the hernia. Along with that, he tested my body, by doing 'kinesiology' and told me that my kidneys were all backed up and I was going to start having kidney stones, unless I cleansed them. He also told me that the prilosec that I have been taking for the GERD (reflux disease) is blocking the good acid in my stomach, and an infection was already in my stomach, so now I am taking supplements to counteract that. I really feel like my body is on the right track now and it's going to heal and be better than ever! The funny thing is, three weeks ago, when this all started, I was complaining how I wanted to lose 15 lbs, well, the silver lining to all of this, is I have now lost 16 lbs!! AND! I have broken my long time addiction to chocolate! It just tastes bitter to me now!
It was pretty expensive going to the Chiropractor yesterday, along with all of the supplements I now am taking, but I figure that if I didn't do that, I would be spending thousands of dollars for a surgery and other expenses that acru with having health problems. Your health is your wealth, and you never know what will catch up to you!!! Everyday, Bella, bless her big heart, asks me if I am feeling better! She is such a little angel and sometimes I get caught up in my own problems that I forget how incredibly lucky I am to have her and Brettie. Last night I babysat for one of Jake's co-workers (he was in a major bind) and this cute little boy destroyed my house and woke up every hour (he slept over) and so now I am not only exhausted but I have a house to clean! He was really cute though, and I am sure it was hard for him to be in a different environment.
We are going on a little family vacay this weekend coming up and I am so excited!!!!!!!
We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and it's supposed to have down pillows and blankets and a large flat screen t.v. in the room as well! We are going to do all things 'family'.
These are our plans:
the Living Aquarium
Chuck E Cheese
Tai Pan Trading (for me!)
Swimming at the pool
Wearing my new swimsuit (for Jake!)
Clark Planetarium-Star Show
Eating at a 'nice' restaraunt
Hanging out in our room and watching movies!!!
It's going to be so nice to just get away for a few days, really!
With Jake going to school full time, and working two full time jobs and our kids never getting enough of their dad time, it's going to be nice for all of us to unwind and enjoy each other's company. I am really looking forward to it. If only I had new clothes to wear...! Just kidding. I have a new pair of wedge sandals that will make me feel like a million bucks!
I will have to take tons of pics and finally post them on this dang blog!!!!

Happy New Year! I hardly ever write on our blog, but I thought I would post new pictures of Brett and Bella. We took the kids to kiddie kandids while we were in Provo/Orem this last week and they turned out really good considering, B & B were crying half the time, or being just plain defiant! We love them though! Jake has started a cleanse to get "the bugs out" and we went to Provo the night before the first day of his cleanse and ate at Ruby River Steakhouse. It was incredibly delicious! We eat there like once a year. Bella always gets the children's meal, the noodles and Brett shared my candied yam with me. It was a lot of fun to get to eat there. We had to keep reminding Bella that we were at a 'nice' place and to lower her voice/enthusiasm. She did really well for the most part! Jake has now been doing his cleanse for 4 days now and I am loving not having to cook so much! I feel like I am on vacation! I am proud of Jake, because I would have a very hard time not eating!!
Bella came down with croup yesterday, so I have been taking care of her and trying to keep Brett healthy. It's scary to see your child struggle just to breathe! The medicine she is taking now is working wonders, I wouldn't even know she was seriously ill! Technology! The doctor said she'll be better within a few days! Well, I am now going to try to post my pictures, wish me luck!

Some New Years Resolutions that I am trying!

1. Watch less, Do more
2. Sit less, move more
3. See less, read more
4. Stress less, love more
5. Be more

We'll see how this year turns out, but I have a feeling, it's going to be a great year!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

This is my first post since Jake's birthday! He's an old man now! 30! I love Jake so much and am so happy that I actually get to be married to my best friend. Brett has been so sick and I was so sick on Jake's birthday, so we haven't celebrated it all at once but every day, Bella and I do something nice for him and say 'Happy Birthday'! So we're just spreading out the joy! He's such an important part of our lives and he works so hard so I can do what is most important in life, stay home with our children. I think it's such a blessing to do so and to have a husband that is so supportive of me. Jake ROCKS! Here are 5 things I love about him:
1. His pretty eyes
2. He's like a big teddy bear
3. He's the best dad/husband EVER!
4. He's always there for me, whether it be a hug, a listening ear or a helping hand.
5. We always laugh together, Kesha (one of my BFF's!) calls us the giggling school girls, because Jake and I usually are having the best time together.
6. Jake's always hugging me or kissing me, I love that kind of affection! I think if he wasn't that way, I would be sad!
7. He's so tenacious and always setting out to go above and beyond, he's the hardest worker I know.
8. He honors his priesthood. It's so nice to get a blessing when we need one!
9. I love just hanging out with him and talking with him, he always has something interesting to talk about.
10. He's truly the best, in every way!
I love you Jake! Happy Birthday! May your thirties be the best EVER! XOxxOoxX oo XX OO xo

Angels Among Us

In these crazy and wonderful times, I am becoming more aware of angels around me. The kind word of a dear friend, Jake bringing me a chocolate frosted doughnut and a kiss (on a day when I just need that!), a hug from Brett and Isabella, the neighbor that waves as they drive past us. I am blessed to be around such people.
I am amazed at the compassion of some people reaching above their capacity, with God lifting them even higher to serve all of those around them.
In times of adversity, it becomes apparent who will stand by us and lift us up. I am so grateful for those who lift me up and help me realize what Heaven must be like because of the love that I am shown.
On a lighter note!!!.....Bella can now write an I and an s, the first two letters of her 'real name'! She loves loves LOVES Miss Becky (Becky Livingston is Bella's preschool teacher, for you non sanpeter's and she truly has a gift with toddlers). Bella informed me the other day that Miss Becky's last name is 'Livin'ston'. I love Bella's Sanpete accent. It's so endearing. It's hard to catch unless you are listening intently. A couple of months ago, she was in our neighbors driveway, collecting gravel rocks, I am sure, and my neighbor, Rachel came out of her house and asked her what she was doing, and Bella's response was: Just nothin'. She's so cute! I love that girl. I now have been asked at least 12 times if Bella was half Mexican. I don't know what it is, but I get asked that a lot! Maybe it's because people believe redheads are only capable of having redheaded children!
Brettie is doing great. He is super cuddly, to the point where I think he's asleep, but when I look at him in the mirror, expecting his eyes to be shut, they are wide open. I think he would melt into me if he could. He now is becoming a Daddy's boy as well as a Mommy's boy (the love is equal!) and calls Jake 'UH'. He calls out for his "UH" all of the time! He is starting to crawl just a bit and is mainly doing an army crawl. He's so adorable! I just want to squeeze him! In a nice way of course!
The house is going great if I could just finish a project! I just bought some paint for my bedroom, it's called chocolate souffle and it's just that; chocolate brown! Now if I could just get Jake to be home long enough to help me!!! I am going crazy painting. After all of these years of white walls in the places we've lived, you can imagine an interior decorator's joy to add COLOR!!
If Jake would let me, I think I would've painted our dining room tangerine, and our kitchen yellow, but the goal is to make the house look classy, even though the bright colors would be fun. I have two wars fighting inside of me: One is Pottery Barn/Drexel Heritage the other is IKEA!

I just did a fun centerpiece for our dining table. I spray painted some twigs black, arranged them in a vase covered with sparkly orange ribbon and glued some fringy black yarn to some of the twigs to make it spookier. It turned out so cute! I need to upload a picture of it soon.
I am so happy Janielle, my sis in law is home from the hospital and is recovering.
We love you, girl!!
I am also pleased to announce my new neice. I think her name is Alexis! She was born last night in Virginia and I am told that she's just beautiful. Congrats Johnny, Julie, and Andi! Thank heavens Uncle Nate is their neighbor and can help out and go on pizza runs for them!

May Heaven be with all of you, in your hearts and in your actions.

Conference

Conference
Wasn't Conference amazing? I am now more dedicated to simplifying my life. I looked around my house thinking, "I don't need this much stuff!" I should try to bless others' lives by giving those in need things I don't need/use and Bella's old clothes. Heaven knows theyr'e just going to collect dust or sit in boxes in my storage room downstairs.I loved Pres. Utchdorf's talk from last week at the Relief Society Women's Conference. Something struck me from his talk. He said a quote from President Brigham Young, "Make everything beautiful around you that angels may delight to come and visit your beautiful locations" and As we lift others, we rise a little higher ourselves. President Spencer W. Kimball taught, “The more we serve our fellowmen in appropriate ways, the more substance there is to our souls. There was so much in his talk that touched my heart.
I had a migraine tonight that kept me from going to a family party (while our husbands were at the Priesthood meeting) and my dear sis in law, Janakaye and my beautiful niece, Abby brought me tons of food from the party that she and my mother in law put together for us. My day was blessed because of them. The food was amazing! I wish my brownies/breadsticks/soup turned out half as good as how they make it! Thank you so much ladies!
This is officially my first entry! I am inspired from the oh so funny satirical blog seriouslysoblessed. TAMN is so funny! My sis in law told me about her and it totally brightened my day.Right now I am holding Brett in my arms while he's sleeping and I am so grateful to have him and beautiful Bella in my life. They are my most precious treasures.
